A link over on Little Green Footballs got me thinking about the topic.
Will the full power of the President, as the head of law enforcement in the Nation, be applied to answering the question: “What did Congress Know About Enhanced Interrogation Techniques, and When Did They Know It?” Glenn Thrush comments on a question from Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to Eric Holder and it sounds like probing Congress may not be out of the question.
My thoughts:
Ah, consider the possibilities! Think like an ACORN-NAUT.
What if, a new President, who had hardly even been in DC for long at all, and was very, very, junior when he was, now was running into resistance for his plans, and promises to his old friends, who may not now, or have been freinds of say…ah, Reid and Pelosi and Boxer and Feinstein….
Are you with me?
What if, those who push back, but are Democrats, have been around long enough to get senior in Congress and been on powerful and important committees? What if they did know what was going on….
and.. you’re checking the score card, and see they aren’t playing ball…..
I know you know where this is going…
So you offer them an olive branch, tied the handle of a sledge hammer, each one personalized for the presentee. Now, you sit back, folding your hands, grinning like the Cheshire Cat, and listen for the magic words: “What ever you need, Boss! Yes, sir, I’m ready and willing to rubber stamp what ever you deam good for the country. You can count on me!”
Really little more needs to be said, unless they stand up, learn on the desk in the Oval Office, and say: “You know I WON! in my state.” In that case, it will seem the AG has some questions to be asked of them.
Pure, unadulterated power politics. The cagey ones, have already called in to pledge their fealty, I suspect.
Stand by to see unlikely Dems of long standing flipping and flopping in an MSM outlet near you soon!
